Keystone Korner, 1970

Keystone Korner, in San Francisco, was a jazz and blues club in the late 60’s till1983. It apparently moved to Baltimore in the 80’s, which seems weird. I was only 18 at the time this photo was taken so would not have been allowed in to listen. There is some disinformation online that the club didn’t open till 1972. I didn’t time travel to the future 2 years when I took this photo, so I’m convinced it opened in the 60’s. On the bill when I took this photo ( on a very cheap camera and scanned in to an iMac) is Boz Scaggs and Benny Cecil and the Snakes (couldn’t find anything online about Benny on multiple search engines).

Modes of Transportation

Film Location

Taken a few years ago in NYC. I stumbled upon a large production set for some sort of film.

Along the Soon to be Extinct Viaduct

Rummaging around on a Sunday

Rummaging around the South Park neighborhood of Seattle on a Sunday morning.

Abandoned and Vandalized

I half expected to find a corpse in the car as I approached it!

The photo of the freeway is the very start of I-90, which will take you across the continent to Boston. Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners.

There was some sort of a commercial film shoot going on in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Quite an entourage of catering and equipment trucks. The Audi was parked on the set, but I have no idea how it may fit in with the shoot. I guess it was more interesting to look at than the hordes of people on the set milling about, seemingly doing nothing other than talking and eating.

Innisfallen, County Kerry, Ireland. I think the headlights are turned on at night, which would be the proper thing to do.SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES IMG_0331-001

South Park Bridge Opening

As you can see below, the bridge guard rail still had the shrink-wrap attached. I guess that is proof the bridge is new :-). I’m not sure how the spaceman in the car fits into the scheme of things, but that is part of the charm of South Park.IMG_0150 SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Look Back Thursday: SF Cable Cars 1970

The seemingly timeless cable cars traversing the hills of San Francisco. In the first image I was inclined to drop the VW bug out of the photo, but in reality it is the point of reference in terms of the year. So…….part of it stays.IMG_0002 - Version 2-001 IMG_0007 - Version 2-001

Guy’s Interior Restoration

DSC_2581-001 Located on Alberta St., NE Portland. I have walked by this shop numerous times in the past 7 years and always just look in from the sidewalk. This day there was an employee working at the very back of the shop who saw me and waved me in. He was insistent, so I relented and went inside. He was working by himself as the owner was in Texas picking up another car to work on for a customer. He told me all about the shop and how he ended up working there three years ago. The shop does not advertise at all yet it gets business from all over the world. People ship their vehicles to the shop in crates, etc.  The work they do is just amazing. The green Mercedes was my favorite this day. If you look behind the Mercedes you can see ( barely) a toddler in a stroller. That is our grandson, Adam, who is 2 1/2 yo. He was very patient with me as I conversed with the employee. The blue VW  Bug is actually a light table of sorts that was made using a VW Bug that was sliced in half. Pretty amazing!! Most of the cars they  work on seem to be older vehicles that need restoration and lots of TLC. The blue hot rod was under a ‘blanket’ that was removed just so I could take a few photos.DSC_2582-001 DSC_2584-001 DSC_2586-001
