Around the Pike Place Market:Blogpost #1952*

Random shots from in and around the PP Market.

*Not that I am superstitious about numbers, but today’s post also represents the year I was born. Nothing noteworthy, but…….

Peppers

Today it is peppers and pigs. This was shot in film at the Pike Place Market. Most vendors were patient with me, but one I had to bribe one less-than-friendly young woman by purchasing some tomatoes.

Pike Place Market

These images were  taken at the Pike Place Market in Seattle, Wa. I love shooting flowers & produce. If you can get to the market early on a week day most of the vendors seem to welcome photographers. When it is busy, though, I was seen as a bit of a nuisance. While I was shooting a woman visiting her son in Bellevue asked me to take her photo. She was touring around the US from India. We talked for a while and eventually exchanged email addresses. Her name is Aruna. We have been infrequently communicating the past 2 years. The last email I received from her she said she was in Queens, NY looking for a job.
