Hanging out on Christmas Afternoon

Spotted these two girls on a rooftop ( near Alberta Street, Portland, OR.) playing with a blond-haired doll. The dialogue went something like this:

Me: “May I take your photo”?

Younger girl: “Do you have flash on that camera”?

Me: ” Yes, I do, but it is too sunny out to need it”.

Younger girl: “Don’t tell my mom we’re up here”.

Me: “I won’t tell. Be careful”!

Amtrak: Seattle to Portland-#2

The shoreline photos were taken between Tacoma and Olympia. Very picturesque. Last image is of the tower at Union Station in Portland.DSC_1806-001 DSC_1807-001 DSC_1810-001 DSC_1811-001 DSC_1812-001

Peninsula Park, NE Portland

Peninsula Park was the original ‘Rose Garden’ in Portland, OR.  Located in NE Portland I would guess city officials decided that a park like this should be located closer to downtown.

Possibly the last of the images from June’s version of Last Thursday, the monthly street fair on Alberta St. in NE Portland, OR.

Photo Within a Photo

Wherever I walk I tend to find odd objects, things out of place. I found this framed photo walking around NE Portland a few weeks ago. The photo seems to be a partial view of a house.

Between Prescott and Alberta

One of my favorite houses in Portland. Located between Prescott and Alberta St. at 19th ( I think ). The detail on the house from the dental molding to all of the cornice and trim work is just wonderful. Even the chimney has some interesting detail to catch your attention. Last week I walked by the house and noticed that the owner had repainted with a different color scheme, which I am not sure I like as well as this one. I have been looking at this house for over 5 years and still have not mustered the courage to knock on the door and ask if I could look inside.
