Just playing around. This Saturday marks the 10th Anniversary of this photoblog.
I can’t take full credit for this photo. My wife took it after a night of snow. I’m guilty of plagiarism, sort of. I spiced up the photo a bit in PS Express.
Anyway, looking East from our deck, towards the Cascade Mts., which are not really visible.
I have a couple of hummingbird feeders just outside my backdoor. I can walk out and watch, without my camera, as the hummingbird partakes of the nectar I blend. If I bring my camera out and just wait, patiently, he/she will either not show up or hides on the backside of the feeder. You can just see his tail feathers in one of the images.
I’m determined to get a shot of this shy or perhaps, sly guy. He really does keep an eye on me while I’m watching him; he’ll stop drinking ( or whatever it is they do) and peek over at me. He’s really diligent about watching his surroundings.
I posted this on FB and Instagram on Tuesday. Seemed like a good idea to post on the blog, as well.
Just a few blocks from our house this view presents itself. This view is looking southwest along Marine View Drive and Puget Sound. When I took daily walks I would walk along this section of Marine View Drive. One of the perks of living where we do; just a few minutes walk from a pretty cool view. Hasn’t changed much in the 60 years I have lived in Arbor Heights.
Since I have been posting flowers from our yard I thought it only fair I post an image of a bush. This bush has been trimmed and shaped by our son in law, who is an Arborists who works for Seattle Parks. This image is actually the first phase of the trim. He finished the trimming last week so now it is sort of a combination bonsai and topiary. This bush image was taken on my phone. The completed topiary will be shot with a ‘real’ camera :-).
Since my range of traveling has been limited to home or close to home ( due to health issues: broken bone in right foot, fractured 8th rib and a blood clot causing edema in my lower left leg-phew!) and not in the usual interesting places I find to shoot, I have some images here from our garden window. I love plants from the desert SW, and besides, they easily adjust to my black thumb!
