A Word of Advice

When out on a stroll with your monitor, please note that, if you decide to go into a drinking establishment, it is advisable to secure your monitor to a solidly cemented post. Not  doing so might encourage your monitor to stray or run into foul play.

10,000 Hits!

Yesterday, while I was out town, this blog arrived at the 10,000 hits milestone! I think it is interesting that it hit that mark on 11-11-11. Thanks to everyone who has come by to look at what I post. Needless to say, I am humbled and grateful for your curiosity and support. Thank you!

William Tell or William Burroughs?

I think this may be the shot William Burroughs had hoped to make on the fateful day he accidentally shot his wife, Joan, in the head, killing her. Playing a game of sorts by placing an apple on her head, on a mind altering drug, his aim was apparently low, much to the surprise and horror of those in attendance. If I remember correctly, Mr. Burroughs got away with just a verbal admonishment from the court as Joan Burroughs was apparently a willing participant in the ‘game’. Needless to say, we will never know if Burroughs had larceny in his heart that fateful day or if it was just a case of poor aim.

Footwatch Friday # Two

This is my second submission ( The big toe of the subject is not totally visible. You will have to take my word for it that the subject has also raised his/her big toe to signify #2). I have a sense this theme is not catching on as fast as I had thought.

Columbus Blown Off Course

The true story emerges: Columbus discovers mansion in NE Portland. The indigenous population of the Sabin district confiscated the Santa Maria and placed it on a mansion rooftop on Alameda St. Columbus was later discovered locked in the media room of the mansion, forced to watch Western movies on a 55″ LCD TV.

Milestone: 1500th Posting on Bluestar2012!

This is my 1,500th posting on this blog. In Feb. 2008 I had no idea where I was going with this blog or if I had the discipline to keep it going for this length of time. So, befitting this moment I thought I would post a ‘self-portrait’ of myself ( in shadow form to maintain some sense of anonymity ) as well as a rainbow, which is symbolic of hope, possibility and perhaps a touch of magic.

Thanks to all of you who have supported this blog by checking in from time to time to see what is going on here. I had less than modest goals when I started posting and I’m really gratified by the response over these 1,500 postings. I’ve purposely let the images I post speak for themselves, with little or no narrative from me. Photography is a personal experience between the image and viewer. I see no point in interjecting my ‘experience’ between you and the image.

Dream large.
