Along the Interurban Trail-#?
This first image was taken nearly at the end of the Interurban Trail. The center of the photo ( the vanishing point?) is the end.
Tim’s Cascade Crunch factory, famous for those thick, teeth-breaking potato chips. Another view of Mt. Rainier and a shot of a cow viewing me.

Wingspan
The wingspan of a heron, to me, seems really large. In relation to its body it is very long, large– whatever adjective fits. I have some more images of this same heron taken moments before lift off. I was stalking this heron, as they are very shy, along a spot on the Duwamish River a few days ago. Finally, I guess he/she thought I was being a nuisance hiding behind tall grass making a clicking noise ( camera ). I will post some those images in the coming days.

Note: I pressed the limits of my 70-200mm lens on these images so some of the detail is less than stellar.

Sunrise
Photos were taken from the Sunrise side of Mt. Rainier. The lodge is at @ 6400′ elevation. Trails that lead up to the glaciers, alpine lakes and other ridges start from this lodge. This day we took a short trail called Huckleberry, steep, but short. The outcropping of rock is fascinating. There are spots along the trail, viewpoints I guess, where the drop-off is a direct fall for hundreds of feet. I have a thing about heights so I stay back from the edge at those points along the trail.

Along the Tacoma Waterfront, something most Fowl
On a recent, hazy day in Tacoma, the fowl were out and about.

Kaos and more from the Interurban
The rollerblader reminded me of a song by Dire Straits, with a title something like “Skateaway”. Seeing all of those bucket lifts in one place reminded me of the herding instinct. I guess it makes good advertising sense to leave them in a position that can be seen from a distance.
