St. Paul’s Chapel

Many people have covered this church, across the street from Ground Zero. The church’s identity now seems connected, forever, to the events of Sept. 11, 2001. There is not much I can say other than walking the grounds and in the church can be a very moving, odd feeling.

Note: for those who know me, in the foreground with their backs to the camera are the ‘twins’ ( Lily and Ian, my companions for the day and more ).

St. Paul’s Chapel

Adjacent to Ground Zero is St. Paul’s  Chapel. There is a cemetery on the grounds as well and the chapel. I think it has become the unofficial gathering place for visitors searching out the location of some of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. People from all over the world gravitate to this location.

Church

NE Portland has many, small neighborhood churches. The names of some of them are too long to remember. This neighborhood still has a few, what I would call, Mom & Pop stores.  This sort of thing has long since vanished from most Seattle residential neighborhoods. It is like being transported back to the 1950’s, to see small churches in this setting.
