Park Slope

Spotted around 3rd Ave and 4th St. in Park Slope. The above building was abandoned 20 years ago. It is a shame as I think it has some architectural elements worth saving. Bottom Image: Looks like we have a new surface on the driveway and the next project will be a new roll up door.

Cityscapes with Sky

From the bottom up: Ground Zero construction, Empire State Bldg. upward and in the distance, the Brooklyn Bridge. I don’t recall the street I was shooting, but it did seem like a nice perspective of the bridge, etc. The middle image could qualify as a “Skywatch Friday” image.

Green Lake Aqua Theatre

What is left of the Green Lake Aqua Theatre. Most of the original structure has been demolished. It was a very unique piece of architecture and an interesting venue for a range of events, including rock concerts.I remember being at this Led Zeppelin concert in May of 1969. The outdoor acoustics made for an amazing place to hear Jimmy Page’s guitar playing. This Grateful Dead concert, Aug. 20th, 1969, was the very last concert at this venue. I was there listening till  around 2AM when the electricity was shut off. The Dead arrived over an hour late (very commonplace for them). It was an odd night. Due to the city buses stopping service before 2AM I didn’t arrive home till hours later.
