Was a minus tide yesterday. We spend some time on the beach hunting marine life of all sorts, crabs, snails, sea cucumbers. Here is a few views of the some of the moon snails we encountered. Some were so large they had to be held with two hands as they emerged from their shell. Note the slimey substance wrapping around the fingers above.
This building is probably only fit for reptiles and rodents. I would have liked to have gone inside, but it is fenced off. It’s always a good sign when you see foliage growing out of the sides of a structure.
This first image looks a little like a fish. I thought I needed to take a few days off from the Gowanus Canal photos. Even I have limits on how much urban decay I can tolerate :-). I found this section of beach at Chambers Bay really fun to explore.
The theme for today must have something to do with beaches and decaying things. This leaf seemed odd to me as it looked so dead on the edges, yet so vibrantly green ( and alive-looking ) towards the center.
