Different color Connemara Marble was used for these small columns inside the Cathedral. Using the local marble was an amazing idea and design feature, I think.
Cathedral at Kylemore Abbey
A short walk from the large Kylemore Abbey is the Gothic cathedral. Hopefully you get a sense of just how remarkable the place is considering the remoteness of the location and the terrain.

The Abbey and the Walled Garden. The Victorian Gardens are in the process of being restored. All of the Sisters at the Abbey, a total of 5 or 6 still working at the Abbey doing baking for the gift shop cafe and the balance are retired and living out their lives in this spectacular setting. Really an amazing place! This huge Abbey stands alone in an area nearly unoccupied.
Display at Capitol Hill Hair
Here are some images from the display I hung this afternoon at Capitol Hill Hair. I have mentioned this in a previous post, complete with best hours, phone#, etc. It has been about 1 1/2 years since I last showed some of my work. Marketing is not my favorite thing to do :-).

Dublin Canals
There are two canals that run through Dublin, the Royal and the 
Grand. Both canals have a series of locks due to the topography.
Dublin Graffiti
The first afternoon we were in Dublin we discovered this lane with both graffiti and old stone walls. The lane got a little sketchy towards the end where it meets the canal. Probably not a place I would venture after the dark, but it was interesting that this was my first view of Dublin.

Rather tall sculpture of a hare in Dublin. I’m unaware of the significance of this human-like hare. ‘Alice in Wonderland’?
Dublin Bits and Bobs
Walking around the Ballsbridge section of Dublin we ran across an Irish mailbox ( green, of course) and this odd, metal trash bin where people can deposit their old phones.
Red Hook in B&W
Was in the process of moving some image files off of the MacBook and into storage on a portable hard drive and noticed these two images so I reworked them a little and, voila! Location is: Red Hook, Brooklyn, one of my favorite places to walk around and shoot in NYC. Two weeks prior to Hurricane Sandy this is what I saw.
