Hanging out on Christmas Afternoon
Spotted these two girls on a rooftop ( near Alberta Street, Portland, OR.) playing with a blond-haired doll. The dialogue went something like this:
Me: “May I take your photo”?
Younger girl: “Do you have flash on that camera”?
Me: ” Yes, I do, but it is too sunny out to need it”.
Younger girl: “Don’t tell my mom we’re up here”.
Me: “I won’t tell. Be careful”!
‘Good-bye’ to the Humans of Alberta St.
Possibly the last of the images from June’s version of Last Thursday, the monthly street fair on Alberta St. in NE Portland, OR.
Coney Island- Off Season
Coney Island, after the summer passes, can be a very cold and lonely place. My kind of place.

A Sunny Morning in the Lower East Side

Modernity, with people. I don’t recall the purpose of this building, but I’m not sure I care for the look. Maybe it does serve a function, other than looking like it is going to tip over?
Early Morning in DUMBO
Reinventing itself, DUMBO has now become a destination as well as a trendy place to live. With the new Brooklyn Bridge Park along the East River it really makes this area very attractive. The views of Manhattan are wonderful from this vantage point.

East Side, Northward
This is from the Roosevelt Island Tram as it nears the Manhattan Island station. I don’t recall the exact ave. (E. 60th St.), but this view is looking northward on the East Side. I carry a small digital voice recorder with me, but I tend to use it to remind myself of general geographical areas that I have shot in during the course of a day. I probably should consider using it for the details as well.
The Lower Halves
