Alberta Rexall Drugs: the building is now a cafe with apartments upstairs and a tattoo shop adjacent to the cafe. Glad they have left the neon sign, a reminder of the past.
Spotted in the Hollywood section of SE Portland, OR. Taken with my iPhone 4S, so quality is not quite there. The two ‘windows’ on the second floor are not real windows, but paintings of windows. Curious.
Thought I would take a break from the gritty realism I have been posting and try something different. This image was originally from a 35mm film print taken on my Minolta X-700 (vintage 1987).
The mural covered the length of this one story building. I didn’t have a true wide angle lens on the camera at the time, so did my best. While I was standing in the street shooting, this FedEx truck stopped. I was thinking he was just being polite about not interrupting my shoot, but it turns out he wanted his photo taken. He stuck his head out the window and yelled out to me: “Hey, take my picture”! Brooklyn, you gotta love it :-).
Taken on Alberta St. in NE Portland a few weeks ago. Working on the images from NY taken while I was on the road for 16 days. Hope to start posting them later this week.
