Just Checking

After I put the socks on Madeleine thought she ought to double check just to make sure grandpa didn’t mess up the color scheme of the socks.
Shoes

A line up of shoes my granddaughter wears. On the right a view of her fashion sense. Her favorite colors are blue and green. Oh, the blue sock HAS to be on the right foot.
Disabled & New

Spotted this van in a driveway in the Sabin area of Portland. I think this van now has become disabled itself instead of serving the disabled.
A few houses down the same street this Mini was parked in the driveway.
Flowers from NE Portland
Thought I would take a break from posting the trip photos and post some from my few days in Portland this past week.

Solvang, Ca.
This ‘village‘ is located about 40 southwest of Santa Maria. We had some free time and thought we would do some sightseeing. It as a fun village/town to hang out. The Danish theme is amazing.

Coastal Highway
A couple of views of and from Highway 1 that runs along the coast. Lots of hairpin turns.

‘Our Land is Your Land’
Mural in downtown Monterey.
Passing through Monterey

We left Marina early in the morning so we could stop and spend some time in Monterey as we made our way down the coast. It was around 9:00am and the center of town was abuzz with this auto auction. I think the ‘RM’ is the same person/company that has an auto auction show in TV. We stopped in a coffee shop and it was filled with high rollers ( as I would define them ) who probably own or collect the various rare cars in the auction.
Pink Dusk
Even the ocean waves seemed to be tinged with pink this evening at Marina beach.

Clouds at Dusk
Pink clouds at dusk at the beach at Marina, Ca.
Marina Beach at Dusk
Just behind this woman there was a parks department info sign, most of the information was faded beyond readability. However, someone decided a new message needed to be written. Somehow I think the woman alone on a bench and the message on the faded sign went together.

Marina, Ca. Beach
On the beach at Marina, Ca. there is a glider launch pad of sorts. It is located high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Beautiful area from the ground. I could only imagine what it would look like from a bird’s eye view.

San Juan Bautista, pt.2

The missions were nice places to get off the road, step back in time and just slow down.
Mission San Juan Bautista
During our nine day road trip we stopped at three different missions.
