Since the tulips were not out I spent some time walking around. I thought I might spot the author Tom Robbins, who lives in La Connor. No such luck. No tulips, no Tom Robbins, but a few other items of interests.

I didn’t know Tom Robbins lived in La Conner! Too bad you didn’t run into him. Love the old signs! Is Plug Ugly a place to eat, or …?
We heard on the news that no tulips have bloomed up there yet. Very strange winter it’s been.

Tom Robbins has lived up there since the early 1970’s. I think he moved up right after ending his employment with the Seattle Times.
Plug Ugly is a fish and tackle shop. With the lens I had I was just close enough to get the whole building in and some of the sign, but not the smaller print below the name. Maybe next time.
I really was hoping the tulips would be out. So did a lot of other people driving around the valley that day!
