Shoes not Welcome

Balance. Spotted in the Sabin area of NE Portland.
Community Cycling Center

On Alberta Street in Portland, the Community Cycling Center refurbishes bicycles and sells them and offers customers the use of tolls and shop to also do repairs on their bikes. An interesting business model with an equally interesting mural on the West side of the building.
Solvang, Ca.
This ‘village‘ is located about 40 southwest of Santa Maria. We had some free time and thought we would do some sightseeing. It as a fun village/town to hang out. The Danish theme is amazing.

Passing through Monterey

We left Marina early in the morning so we could stop and spend some time in Monterey as we made our way down the coast. It was around 9:00am and the center of town was abuzz with this auto auction. I think the ‘RM’ is the same person/company that has an auto auction show in TV. We stopped in a coffee shop and it was filled with high rollers ( as I would define them ) who probably own or collect the various rare cars in the auction.
Marina Beach at Dusk
Just behind this woman there was a parks department info sign, most of the information was faded beyond readability. However, someone decided a new message needed to be written. Somehow I think the woman alone on a bench and the message on the faded sign went together.

Marina, Ca. Beach
On the beach at Marina, Ca. there is a glider launch pad of sorts. It is located high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Beautiful area from the ground. I could only imagine what it would look like from a bird’s eye view.

Mission San Juan Bautista
During our nine day road trip we stopped at three different missions.

Pride 2009
Couple of images from last weeks Pride 2009 event in Seattle’s Capital Hill area.
Trainspotting in Seattle
Amtrak Cascades heading to King St. Station in Seattle.

Address, not my age
Although some days I feel this age this is actually an address in Post Alley, which I guess is a bit odd in itself.
Post Alley#2
View from the south looking up Post alley.

Odd Place for this
A children’s playground set seems like an odd place to make this appeal. Spotted in Lincoln Park, Seattle, north playground.
Must be 1984
Ad seen on side of Metro bus in Seattle. I’m not sure riding a large, articulated diesel bus would be a green experience.
From Eastern Washington
Rest Area sign from viewpoint above Selah, Wa.
Phone located at the rest area. The landscape views were pretty amazing. I could see both Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams. What interested me was the phone booth, probably put out of service due to cell phones?

Panel Van
Guy’s Panel Van. Parked on Alberta St. in NE Portland. I think this van is a 1954 Chevy, but not sure. It looks like a van my neighbor used to have for his business. UPS also used this 1954 van.
Strange Tags or Tags in Odd Places

On the same street as my previous posts I found these two tags. It just seemed odd or out of place in such an upscale neighborhood.
