This is a panorama view ( two images stitched together thanks to my wife ) of the 14th St. Bridge. As of 30 June 2010 this bridge is no longer in use and is placed in the upright position till demoliton starts. Very small file so please click on image to enlarge.
Crew rowing on this cold, grey day. During the summer Green Lake hosts many regional rowing tournaments (?). On this day just this solitary crew was out on the lake practicing.
Located on Puget Sound, Carkeek Park has some interesting trails and wetlands to observe nature. Over the next few days I will be posting some of the things I encountered while in the park with the students of Whitman Middle School.
A section of blue sky reflected in the river. The mood along the river seemed to change suddenly. A partially cloudy morning turned into a steel-gray morning with the wind causing ripples on a calm river. Despite a few garbage cans close by trash seems to accumulate. To me the cement blocks are more of a reminder of an earlier time when pollution of every sort could be found in and around the Duwamish River.
I had company this grey morning. Fellow photographer patiently waiting for a pair of osprey that apparently liked to feed at this stretch of the Duwamish River.
