Raised Garden Boxes
Someone has invested space and resources to lay out this raised box farm. This space used to have a more traditional urban garden that, over the past couple of years, had been in decline. The wood and angle iron used in these boxes is a serious investment. They have even shaped the boxes to fit the plot of land. I am really impressed.
Clematis
Our daughter’s neighbor, Carol, has a very large and prodigious clematis vine.
Rose
It is rose season here in the NW. Portland is having its annual Rose Festival this week. So, I may be posting a variety of roses over the next couple of weeks.
North of Pearl District
Across from Tanner Springs Park there is some old buildings from Portland’s past. Rust has taken over this particular building.
Fashion Shoot
On this particular afternoon there was both a fashion shoot and a wedding shoot going on. Busy afternoon at Tanner Springs Park in Portland, Or.
Update: Mike’s House
It has been a while since I posted something about Mike’s house in NE Portland. Since the last posting he has punched out some dormers upstairs, painted ( probably primer) the outside and removed the old front & back porches. I haven’t been inside the house, but my guess is that it is mostly gutted. The dormers are a good way to increase usable square footage and not really add much to the cost of renovating.

Doing it Yourself
A good example of what happens when you mix drug consumption with minimal carpentry skills.
Downriver
Down river, the Willamette does seem large and powerful. You can see two bridges in the background. Love all of the bridges connecting different parts of Portlandia.
