Winter Rose

I could hardly believe it when I spotted this rose, in bloom, while walking in Portland last week. Must be a hardy variety.

It is rose season here in the NW. Portland is having its annual Rose Festival this week. So, I may be posting a variety of roses over the next couple of weeks.

Instead of travel stickers from around the great, old US of A on the windows we see stickers of another variety on this Chevy Station Wagon.

Non-Fisheye, Almost

On May 18, 2011May 18, 2011 By Fred KingIn blossoms, treeLeave a comment

The weather was really nice today so I had a couple of hours of shooting in two locations. I know there is worse weather around the US, but living under a gray cloud cover for 10 months is a bit  trying.

Fisheye

One of the editing features on the Nikon D7000 is a fisheye view. I couldn’t resist trying it out :-).

About Me

Currently 73 years old, cancer survivor  living in Seattle, WA. Enjoy both photography and music.

Update: 6 Sept 2023: Cancer has returned. Probably will start directed radiation treatment at the end of October.

Update: 24 Sept 2024: After two 15 round sessions of SBRT I am now undergoing chemotherapy. After chemo, A PET scan will assess where I am. After the scan I will be minimally doing a year of immunotherapy -beginning November, 2024. Update: 8 March 2025-Finished 3rd immunotherapy ( Imfinzi- a checkpoint inhibitor) and fourth is on 11 March 2015. Another PET SCAN scheduled for 18 March 2025.

Update Sept. 2025: Scans from a couple of weeks ago look positive. However, Oncologist has changed the original plan from one year of immunotherapy to continuing “indefinitely”, as he feels, due to my history with cancer, that if stopped it would come back.
