Was in the process of moving some image files off of the MacBook and into storage on a portable hard drive and noticed these two images so I reworked them a little and, voila! Location is: Red Hook, Brooklyn, one of my favorite places to walk around and shoot in NYC. Two weeks prior to Hurricane Sandy this is what I saw.
Try as I might, I can’t think of a witty title for this photo. Probably just as well. I wonder if the woman on her cell, in the background, is calling in an upright bass on the run?
The flag atop the Brooklyn Bridge. If you look closely you can see the year, 1875, between the cables on the stone column. The vanishing point is a little left of center but, what the heck, so am I.
Top photo from the 34th St. station ( Manhattan) and the lower image from the 4th Ave. station in Brooklyn after exiting the F train. This day there was a maintenance person washing the floors with a solution that must have been 50% bleach. Very clean and very smelly.
