Here is a similar image, totally unedited/cropped, to the posted “mystery image” of Nov. 4th. The colors on the bubble are a little more vibrant in this image, but also the background is more diverse and I was looking for a nearly monochromatic background. Anyway, mystery solved and I thank all of you for playing along with me for a couple of days!

Bubble Man of Central Park
This is the answer to the mystery image I posted a couple of days back ( Nov. 7th ). I got the type or quality of the previous image due to the overcast day. The cloud cover provided a totally gray background and by focussing on the edge of that particular bubble I got the image I did. This guy was amazing to watch! I was with him for about 45 minutes, talking and laughing and just having a great time as a kid. The children that did get to watch him-he ran out of magical bubble ingredients just as I was leaving- were totally thrilled. It is a pretty simple idea with just two sticks, a piece of rope and the liquid mixture. The trick and talent lies within the manipulation of the stick and rope device and then always being mindful of the wind direction. Shooting through a bubble with people on the other side of the bubble created a cool effect, I think.
Not an Abstract Image
This image was taken outside in Central Park. By itself, it looks like something I conjured up in a photo editing program. Actually, there was little editing involved with this image. In a future posting I will explain what I was shooting. For now, I just wanted to post the image to let it stand on its own or be viewed without the back story.

Razor Wire and Graffiti
Adjacent to the 8th Ave. Park is a scrapyard that is protected by fencing, razor wire, guard dogs, cameras, etc. My bank should have this much security!
8th Ave. Park: South Park, Seattle
A postal-stamp sized park in South Park that few know about as it is mostly a light industrial area. Kayakers use it to launch themselves into the Duwamish River and then either travel the river itself or head out into Elliott Bay. This is the spot where I stalked a blue heron. I posted some of those photos last week.
Evergreen State Fair
I entered three photographs in three different categories at the Evergreen State Fair. Today we went up to see how the three pieces faired. All three took second place in their respective categories. Close, but not quite the best. I thought all three were worthy or in the running. This was my first year at this judging event. I’m sorry the two images here are full of glare, etc. No matter where I stood to take a photo I could not avoid that nasty glare. Anyway, when I get the judging sheet I should have a better understanding of what they were looking for, or???????????
Midweek Graffiti Posting
Nothing like a spot of graffiti to spark the midweek doldrums.
“Peace, have a good day”. I keep thinking that one day I will run across a bit of wisdom displayed in someone’s well thought out graffiti or street art. Not something as vague as: ” the end is near’. But, rather, just a tidbit of something that shows me some insight and mental prowess; something I can take with me to ponder over. So far,
no such luck.
I’ll be looking, though. I don’t understand the “3.7” in the first image. I would understand: 3.14, pi as a universally understood mathematical statement, but……3.7?
Rouge
Classic Rolls Royce spotted along the Ruston Trail near Commencement Bay, Tacoma, Wa. This Rolls was parked in a lot belonging to a law firm. “Follow the money”, as the saying goes. Reminds me of the TV show ‘Burke’s Law‘ (1963-1965), a show about a LA Homicide detective who rode around in a Silver Cloud, I believe. I guess I have dated myself :-).
Polka Dots and More
Someone took the time and effort to paint polka dots at an intersection in Portland. Just keeping Portland weird :-).
