On Alberta Street in Portland, the Community Cycling Center refurbishes bicycles and sells them and offers customers the use of tolls and shop to also do repairs on their bikes. An interesting business model with an equally interesting mural on the West side of the building.

Two Looks, One Rose

Two looks at the same rose in the Rose City. Just when I think I have taken enough images of roses I come across a blossom like this.

An Eye on You
From the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle. A quick note: I will be on the road the next 10 days traveling to Santa Maria, Ca. to bury my dad’s ashes that I have had stored in my house since his passing in March of 08′. I will be taking my MacBook & camera along, but not sure how much time I will have to edit and post images from the road. Please understand if I don’t post. I will, hopefully, have an abundance of material to post when I return on Aug. 2oth.
In the meantime, keep your eyes and hearts open.

Forgotten
This cap was abandoned near the entrance to the Riverfront Blues Festival.
News
Due to the heatwave we are having in Seattle I will not be posting for a few days. I am just in survival mode this week. Will return soon.
Ducky does Potty Training
Our granddaughter thought her Ducky friend needed potty training last week.
Mushroom
Top of a large mushroom in our yard. It’s underneath some evergreen shrubs and is very large.
Smoketree Leaf
Spotted in Portland. I think there are two varieties of Smoketrees in the US. Interesting tree. I actually walked past this small tree, stopped and turned around to walk back and take a look. It was like it took my mind a few seconds to register what I saw.
My Absence
I am in Portland, Or. this week and will return home on July 5th. No new posts this week, but have about 200 new images to work through when I do return home.

#2
I’m not sure if the tagger was attempting to incorporate the legitimate #2 into his/her work. At any rate I don’t get it?

Macro Stems
Shooting macro images of flowers and plants in general I tend, like many, to focus in on the blossom of the plant. The intent, with this image shot yesterday, was to focus on the stem of a plant and see how it turned out. I was pleasantly surprised. There almost seems to be a sense of atmosphere or something going on within the stem area of the plant. At the risk of repeating myself I think it is interesting to shoot something, with a macro lens, and yet capture both a bit of detail and a sense of abstract or dreaminess, if that makes sense?

Maybe the Trendsetters live here?
