Community Cycling Center

BANNERMuralOn Alberta Street in Portland, the Community Cycling Center refurbishes bicycles and sells them and offers customers the use of tolls and shop to also do repairs on their bikes. An interesting business model with an equally interesting mural on the West side of the building.

An Eye on You

From the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle. A quick note: I will be on the road the next 10 days traveling to Santa Maria, Ca. to bury my dad’s ashes that I have had stored in my house since his passing in March of 08′. I will be taking my MacBook  & camera along, but not sure how much time I will have to edit and post images from the road. Please understand if I don’t post. I will, hopefully, have an abundance of material to post when I return on Aug. 2oth.

In the meantime, keep your eyes and hearts open.

An Eye on You

Macro Stems

Stems

Shooting macro images of flowers and plants in general I tend, like many, to focus in on the blossom of the plant. The intent, with this image shot yesterday, was to focus on the stem of a plant and see how it turned out. I was pleasantly surprised. There almost seems to be a sense of atmosphere or something going on within the stem area of the plant. At the risk of repeating myself I think it is interesting to shoot something, with a macro lens, and yet capture both a bit of detail and a sense of abstract or dreaminess, if that makes sense?
