Mike’s House: Update

I think this is the fourth update on Mike’s house and probably the last exterior views I will take. The exterior is now finished and Mike is working mostly in the interior. My next update, with luck, will show the interior.

End

Triangular building and a sofa proclaiming “End”. Perhaps, expecting the world to end on May 21st, someone placed their sofa outside to watch the ‘End”. I think they should have checked their Mayan calendar as the “end” does not occur till Dec. 21st, 2012. I don’t think the sofa will last that long; it’s ‘end’ may come sooner.

Mike’s House: Update

Mike hard at work ( until I stopped by to talk ). The house now has a new porch and columns, dormers upstairs, new furnace, plumbing. Mike said he is about four months from completion and is a little over budget. The wiring needs to be replaced, new windows as well as new sheetrock for the interior ( original was plaster and lath ). Mike let me in the basement to take a look at how it will work, with refinished cement floors, rooms for entertainment, etc. I think he said he hauled out 3 3 yard dumpsters of debris, etc from the basement alone. Things are really moving along, though. It has been fun to follow this major rebuild from the begining.

Another Church

From the rooftop of the Pemco parking garage on Eastlake Ave. another church comes into view. The cream colored building with the curved roofline used to be the Seattle School District‘s warehouse. Years ago I worked in this building for about 3 weeks one summer as I was going through a rather extended time between jobs. I worked swing shift with one other employee, who I rarely saw until the end of the shift,  around 11:30pm each night.
