This morning I attended the funeral of a childhood acquaintance. In an attempt to move my thoughts, from the sadness of that loss to the future, I thought I would post this photo of our granddaughter, Madeleine. Viewing life from the perspective of a child, looking forward with great promise, helps shift my thoughts from the past/present to the future.

What a good idea, Fred. It’s rough to be, finally, at a time in our lives when friends and loved ones pass on with increasing frequency. Madeline is such a great representation of future hope, isn’t she?
