This house is nearly buried by all of the vegetation. I am always curious about the people living in houses with yards like this.

On Beach Drive, in Seattle, there is a house that has decorated a shrub, tree or whatever they fancied in their yard and parking strip with blue bottles. I never expected to find someone else bitten by the same bug, this time in Portland.

Mike in his truck talking on the phone. I didn’t get a chance to talk with Mike the last time I was in Portland. I did notice that he had finished painting the new porch. I would guess more work is going on inside the house. Next time I hope to venture in and take photos, if Mike is okay with that.

Spent some time in the Portland Rose Garden this past Monday. Needless to say, I have quite an inventory of images to post.

Mike’s House: Update

Mike hard at work ( until I stopped by to talk ). The house now has a new porch and columns, dormers upstairs, new furnace, plumbing. Mike said he is about four months from completion and is a little over budget. The wiring needs to be replaced, new windows as well as new sheetrock for the interior ( original was plaster and lath ). Mike let me in the basement to take a look at how it will work, with refinished cement floors, rooms for entertainment, etc. I think he said he hauled out 3 3 yard dumpsters of debris, etc from the basement alone. Things are really moving along, though. It has been fun to follow this major rebuild from the begining.
