Pig with Bling
Imagine 100 artistically designed ‘pigs’ placed around your core downtown area. Such was the case in Seattle a while back to celebrate the first 100 years of the Pike Place Market.
Last Sunny Days
Although we didn’t know it at the time, this day was probably one of our last pleasant days before the seasons shifted. The NW has been in the grip of an Arctic Cold the past few days, very uncommon for us this pre-Thanksgiving holiday. As I type this it is snowing, but rain is predicted (thankfully )for the afternoon.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Produce
One of the many produce vendors across the street from the Pike Place Market.
Public Market

Theme of the Day: Pigs
A couple of years ago the Pike Place Market celebrated its 100th anniversary. One of the ways in which they celebrated was to allow many artists to take a pig and do what they wanted with it, within certain guidelines, shall we say. The pigs were planted/displayed around the core downtown business area. You could pick up a map, which I did, to locate all of the pigs. I spent a couple of hours one morning, armed with my camera and pig map, photographing as many pigs as I could stand. Here is a sampling of my adventure that morning.

Rack of Bikes, Pike Place Market
Bicycles parked on a fence in Pike Place Market. Looks a little unorthodox, but it works. I wonder what the young man is thinking?
Post Alley
Post Alley, adjacent to Pike Place Market. Like most alleys it is a bit dark, but it is a fun to place to walk during the day.
Meet the……
Golden Pig!
Piggy Bank
An entry in the Pigs on Parade contest to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Pike Place Market. Various entries were placed around the core downtown area of Seattle a couple of summers ago.
