Mt. Rainier-Sunrise
Yesterday we took a day trip to Sunrise, on the east side of Mt. Rainier. As you can see it was a beautiful day! Will be posting more from this day in the future.
A Few More Sights along the Green River Trail
Views of cyclists, tree limbs broken from high winds and apartment complex perched precariously on a hillside above a gravel pit were seen this day along the GR Trail.
Another Wild Bunny Sighting
Along the Green River Trail a wild rabbit forages for a meal.
The Interurban
A section of the Interurban Trail, not as scenic as the Green River Trail, that is straight and flat. A large portion of the Green River Trail is closed due to flood abatement efforts. The trail has turned into a six foot wall of sandbags covered in black plastic.
Grafitti Scribbles
What would an urban trail be without scribblings and doodlings on most overpasses ( or flat surfaces in general )? Perhaps visually more appealing.
Wild Bunny
Have spotted quite a few wild rabbits along both the Green River and Interurban Trails.
Abandoned, along the Green River Trail
This cement column used to support something large, but now sits alone adjacent to the river. The building below appears to have sat unused for quite some time.

At a bend in the Green River these little whirlpools would form and dissipate within seconds.

Of course, what would any urban trail be without graffiti and generally poorly placed street art? The pilings in the second photo are from days gone by when there was a lot of river traffic and commerce.

And, here is the traditional floral view. One of the “rules” I was taught in a workshop is: “Never shoot flowers from above”. One of the next “rules” that was presented was: ” The rules should be bent or broken from time to time, whenever you feel the creative urge”. So, there you have it. As much as some would like to make Art a “Science”, basically it is whatever works for you that should be applied.

Someone took the time and effort to paint polka dots at an intersection in Portland. Just keeping Portland weird :-).
Floral Binge-#3
I’m not sure why people ( myself included) find flowers fascinating to photograph. Perhaps they demonstrate how amazing nature can be in crafting something so colorful and perfect that is the attraction? In terms of flaws it seems like humans have plenty whereas in nature I am not so sure that is the case.
Time for a Floral Binge
