From the Staten Island Ferry

Looking back at lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge from the Staten Island Ferry. There was quite a crowd of people  standing on the aft end of the ferry taking pictures. I thought I had a good spot to shoot from, but was soon overrun by camera-clutching tourists pushing me around as everyone jockeyed around for that ‘perfect spot’. A bit crazy, but riding the ferry is a good way to see lower Manhattan and the east channel, downtown Brooklyn, etc.

Man and Hammer

In Rockefeller Center. This engraving confuses me. Why would the Rockefellers commission an engraving of a guy with a hammer, which seems to represent the working class? Maybe this is a representation of a Greek God that I am not familiar with?

Park Slope

I recently took a second look at the photos I had taken in Oct. of 2007, during a trip I took to New York and Ct. Sometimes walking away from the work and getting a fresh look later helps, although two years may be too far of a walk away to get a fresh look. I originally posted very few photos from that trip. Now that I have had a second look I think I will, from time to time, post some of those images.
