More from Alameda Street, Portland, Or.

Alameda St., in NE Portland, is a pretty posh neighborhood. I guess posh does not exclude being a bit different? The entrance door reminds me of a checker board. I am not sure why someone would place a life-size replica of a jockey on their property.
Piglet on Roof
Piglet on a roof on Alameda St., Portland, Oregon. I’m not sure what, if any, is the significance of a cement piglet on one’s roof, but there you have it.
Tulips at Dusk Pt. II

Last week I sort of obsessed on tulips. I shot them during a morning walk with my granddaughter as well as in the evening while walking alone. This was taken at sunset in Portland, as was the previous post.
White Tulip

White tulip at dusk.
Panel Van
Guy’s Panel Van. Parked on Alberta St. in NE Portland. I think this van is a 1954 Chevy, but not sure. It looks like a van my neighbor used to have for his business. UPS also used this 1954 van.
Hybrids
Address with letters and numbers.

Cherry tree with white and pink blossoms.
Pink

Pink is the color of the day. Vintage Clothing on Capital Hill & two-nearly blossoming tulips (revisited from a previous post).
Blue OBama

Poster I saw in an apartment window. I am wondering how he is handling, in private, the monstrous mess left by his predecessor? He seems strong and focused. The last eight years nearly brought this country to the brink, I believe. I hope he can pull us back from the precipice.
Strange Tags or Tags in Odd Places

On the same street as my previous posts I found these two tags. It just seemed odd or out of place in such an upscale neighborhood.
How the Other Half Lives
Crow looking at estate.
Looking for……..
I’ve always wondered where Camelot was.
I didn’t think it was here.
Lucky Address
Mail slot at the entrance to a Capital Hill estate in Seattle.
Week of 20 April 2009
I am in Portland, Or. this week. My next posting will be this Friday. I have been busy shooting, though, so much new material to display. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive of my blog and work. Photography seems like such a personal experience that with each posting we are putting ourselves ‘out there’ for the world to view and critique. My hope is that I post and share something of interest to me and others; perhaps even something out of the ordinary seen through my eyes.
Sky full of Cherry Blossoms

Sky full of cherry blossoms on Capital Hill, Seattle. I was on Capital Hill getting my haircut Saturday and spent an hour or so walking around afterwards. It was a pleasant morning with lots of people out walking dogs, jogging and just emerging from a long Winter. I have quite a few images of this walk to share in the near future.
Tulips to be

Tulips to be. It has just been too cold this Spring. The tulips are about two weeks behind, in terms of when they usually bloom. I think this coming week will be the blossoming moment. These were shot in the Capital Hill area of Seattle today.
Water Droplets

Water droplets.
Echo
Echo-like effect with a wildflower from our yard.
Friday Flowers
A lovely bouquet. Friday is Skywatch day around the blogosphere. Thought I would offer Friday Flowers instead.
Market Produce Revisited
