Tile

On June 19, 2009 By Fred KingIn Park, Seattle1 Comment

Was out at Carkeek Park in NW Seattle two days ago taking photos of the Whitman M.S. annual picnic. While shooting the students and some of the activities I snuck in a dozen or so photos for myself. I thought this tile work was pretty cool.Tiles

Hummingbird Magnet

Closer LookA bush in my neighbor’s yard that seems to attract hummingbirds. So much so that I moved my hummingbird feeder a few feet from this bush, with no luck in attracting the birds to the feeder.DSC_0001ab

Address, not my age

Although some days I feel this age this is actually an address in Post Alley, which I guess is a bit odd in itself.Address in Post Alley

A Closer Look

On June 15, 2009 By Fred KingIn Post Alley, SeattleLeave a comment

Moving a little closer the details of the wall start to manifest. There are all sorts of romantic messages, numbers and, well quite a variety of pieces ( no pun intended) that represent a range of thoughts.Close Up

Gum Wall or Art?

Brick wall in Post Alley. I mentioned in a post yesterday that I would show the wall on the left. This is a small section of that wall. Chewing gum or art? Gum Wall or Art?

Post Alley, adjacent to Pike Place Market. Like most alleys it is a bit dark, but it is a fun to place to walk during the day.Post Alley

Growing in a pot on our deck. One of those wispy flowers that seem so delicate a slight breeze would damage them. They seem to survive just fine, though.Campanula rotundifolia

I think this is the only day lilly I have this year and it is a bit damaged from a hail shower we had a couple of weeks ago. My guess is that it will be orange in color.Day Lilly

Sun Flower

On June 10, 2009 By Fred KingIn blossoms, FlowersLeave a comment

A plant to brighten up the day. In Seattle we use the sun flower as an artificial version of the sun. On cloudy days I put my sun glasses on and stand in front of the sun flower, ever mindful to not look directly into the plant.DSC_0029-a

About Me

Currently 74 years old, cancer survivor  living in Seattle, WA. Enjoy both photography and music.

Update: 6 Sept 2023: Cancer has returned. Probably will start directed radiation treatment at the end of October.

Update: 24 Sept 2024: After two 15 round sessions of SBRT I am now undergoing chemotherapy. After chemo, A PET scan will assess where I am. After the scan I will be minimally doing a year of immunotherapy -beginning November, 2024. Update: 8 March 2025-Finished 3rd immunotherapy ( Imfinzi- a checkpoint inhibitor) and fourth is on 11 March 2015. Another PET SCAN scheduled for 18 March 2025.

Update Sept. 2025: Scans from a couple of weeks ago look positive. However, Oncologist has changed the original plan from one year of immunotherapy to continuing “indefinitely”, as he feels, due to my history with cancer, that if stopped it would come back.

Selfie: 2016 at the Cliffs of Moher and from March of 2025. Nearly ten years apart.
