Seattle Sun
This was my second attempt at capturing the odd shade of sunlight that afternoon. I did use a Polarizing filter, but no post production work on color or saturation. The light just had this brownish tinge to it. Seemed odd to me at the time. I think this image is closer to what I actually saw. It was dusk about an hour later.
Pampas Grass
The pampas grass always seems so delicate yet hardy. This plant is located on Beach Drive, with a southern exposure. In Seattle that means it gets the brunt of the weather systems that push up Puget Sound.
Afternoon Sun Pt. 2
Late afternoon looking towards downtown Seattle. The sunlight was an odd shade of yellow that I don’t think I really captured here. I tried, though.

Friday Whimsy
In the Pacific Northwest we rely on artificial devices to remind us of what the sun may look like. This tree has such a lumpy trunk from pruning it looks like it has gone through a series of plastic surgeries.

Bark Peeling
I found this bark fascinating. Of course I couldn’t resist helping Mother Nature along by peeling off some of the bark myself.
