If the tracks were a life, the bend would be the future. You would not see what was there, but you would believe the tracks continue. It does not look like this is where the train would stop. At the end of the line should be at least one little town. But, around the bend? More short grass, more iron rails set just far enough apart to keep iron wheels between them as they change direction, more hills formed of extruded melted rock that has weathered in the hot/cold weather of the Cascades’ rain shadow.
